Encontro Nacional de Estudantes de Engenharia Biomédica (ENEEB) is held in 2020 in U. Aveiro. As its name indicates is an event that allows the exchange of experiences between students of the courses of Biomedical Engineering and Bioengineering of Portugal, alumni and companies in the area. In addition to conferences, workshops and debates, ENEEB provides visits to companies. This event takes place from February 27 to March 1, 2020. We support Dr. Martin Grossman talk about protontherapy. Dr. Martin Grossmann is an IEEE Nuclear and Plasma Sciences Society Distinguished Lecturer. Martin Grossmann has worked in High Energy Physics at CERN and in Muon Physics at PSI before joining the Center for Protontherapy CPT there in 1995. He programmed the therapy control system for the world’s first pencil beam scanning gantry which started clinical operations in 1996. For many years he lead the IT & Electronics group at CPT and was in charge of control and safety systems for several PSI built treatment rooms. He is now Senior Technical Advisor at CPT. Martin Grossmann is chair of CANPS (2018-2021), member of NPSS ADCOM (since 2017) and member of RISC (2017-2019). He has been actively involved in the organization of the recent editions of the IEEE NPSS Real Time Conference as well as IEEE NPSS Instrumentation Schools in Capetown, Kuala Lumpur, Sao Paulo, Dakar and Ho Chi Minh City. His Fields of Research: Proton Therapy Control Systems, Systems for Patient Safety in Particle Therapy, Beamline and Gantry design, Outreach activities.
