This initiative includes ten one hour talks on various topics of medical informatics. We support Prof. Dimitrios Fotiadis talk with the title “The new era in Big Data: from data sharing, to data harmonization and machine learning for actionable knowledge extraction”. Prof. Dimitrios proposed to abort the problems in the use of the data collected in machine learning for Health systems. His major research topics are Machine Learning in Biomedical Data Processing and Tissue / Cardiovascular Multiscale Modeling and Smart Monitoring. Now he is serving as the Editor-in-Chief of the IEEE Journal of Biomedical and Health Informatics and he is IEEE Fellow since 2019. He is one of the most active members of IEEE Engineering in Medicine & Biology Society (EMBS). Dimitrios is also a member of the editorial board of Elsevier’s Computers in Biology and Medicine magazine, Prof. of Biomedical Eng in the Department of Science and Engineering. of Materials at the University of Ionnina in Greece, and is also the director of the medical technology and intelligent information systems unit.
