  • CoLab Sessions: This is a semester internship program at Lisbon research centers and laboratories in the biomedical engineering area;
  • BioHack Projects: Students try to develop their own research projects ideas outside lecture hours, with the help of teachers and older students;
  • IST Enterprise Challenge: Students develop projects in companies of their interest area;
  • IST MedEngine: This initiative aims to identify an unmet need in medicine, with the help of a team of qualified students who develop an innovative solution. This is preceded by IST-MedNetworking, informal lectures where physicians casually expose the technological problems they feel;
  • EMBrace: Solidarity activities;
  • Workshops: Soft-skills (how to pitch, time management, etc.), Technical (LaTeX, Matlab, Python) and debates;
  • Dinners and Social Events (e.g. Quizz Night).
